The Structures Group, Inc. (TSG) provided the structural design and development of structural construction drawings for the proposed new 650’ length of trestle to support an elevated 18” diameter (ID) ductile iron sewer pipe to be constructed across Ft. Eustis Lake within the City of Newport News, Virginia.  The approximately 500 linear feet of the trestle were constructed with precast concrete piles and pile caps, while the remaining 150 linear feet of the trestle were constructed utilizing helical piles and precast concrete components.  TSG also assisted in the coordination and preparation of the construction documents for the proposed man holes to meet the requirements for agency and code compliance review.  TSG also provided construction administration services, including responses to General Contractor questions and/or concerns, shop drawing and product submittal review, as well as site visits to review construction in progress.
