The Structures Group, Inc. (TSG) has provided and continues to provide structural design and forensic analysis services at the Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility within the City of Hopewell, Virginia.

TSG provided the forensic structural review of the two (2) approximately 45’ x 45’ x 26’ deep partially above ground sludge holding tanks in order to determine the extent of long term deterioration exhibited in the sludge tank walls. Following the structural review, TSG designed the remedial repairs necessary to allow the sludge tank walls to remain in place and continuing to function into the future.

TSG also prepared structural design and development of structural construction drawings for the foundation support of a new pre-manufactured electrical building and the necessary modifications to the existing concrete pipe supports as part of a renovation to the RAS piping system. Additionally, TSG provided a forensic structural review of the spiral stair assembly accessing the building.

Further, TSG provided a forensic structural review of the elevated walkways and access ladders attached to the exterior steel shell of the Oxygen Distillation Tower to determine the extent of distress and to design the remedial repairs necessary to allow ongoing use of the elevated walkways.  Following the forensic review and remedial repair analysis, we also provided the design and development of structural construction drawings for the extension of one of the elevated walkways attached to the Oxygen Distillation Tower as well as structural construction drawings for the removal and replacement of a three-story exterior spiral access stair.
