The Structures Group, Inc. provided the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code required Special Inspections for the approximately 11,000 square foot, two (2) story educational wing addition to the rear elevation of the existing church located on Jamestown Road in Williamsburg, Virginia. The addition was constructed along the rear elevation of the existing church and consisted of prefabricated wood roof trusses bearing on structural steel framing. The second floor framing consisted of a concrete slab on metal decking over steel joists which bear on structural steel beams supported by steel columns which bear on shallow concrete footings. The non-load bearing exterior walls consisted of brick veneer and light gage metal studs.
